Published Short Stories
The Misadventures of Comic Book Girl– This memoir about the struggle of being a female comic book fan has been published in both Headwaters Creative Arts Magazine and the Great Smokies Review. It won the 2012 Wilma Dykeman Award for Creative Nonfiction.
The Blank Space– This short story about a group of people who wake up in a locked room with no memories of how they came to be there was published in Headwaters Creative Arts Magazine.
Caitlin has written in-depth articles for Anime Feminist examining the intersection between social issues and anime. She considers these some of her best articles to date.
Caitlin has worked for Epicstream for more than two years. In the course of her career there, she has written hundreds of articles about sci-fi and fantasy. You can find her work collected here.

Caitlin had the honor of being published by Cracked.com. Her first article, 6 Insulting Movie Adaptations of Strong Female Characters quickly went viral. It examined the way complex and proactive female characters were watered down in adaptations.
Her other article, 5 Insane Things Comic Books Believe Women’s Bodies Can Do-, showed the strange grasp of anatomy many comic book artists show when it comes to Female characters.
